The Big Adventure of a Small Radio Station!!

FM SHONAN MAGIC WAVE is not just one-way radio. Through learning more about our own local community, Japan, and the world, recognizing significance of human relationships, we hope this “WAVE” will further enrich peopleʼ s minds and hearts.

Primary School to University Students Involved in Broadcasting

In FM SHONAN MAGIC WAVE, 20 radio programs in a week are produced by the university students. Children and students, who had no experience of listening to radio, are now delivering recent feelings on the radio. In Japan, the minimum voting age was lowered from 20 to 18, and soon the definition of “adult age” also will be 18. Now the discussions on lowering the minimum age for electoral eligibility have begun in the society, too. As a media, FM SHONAN MAGIC WAVE will commit to watch and catch up the direction to which the local community, Japan, and the world are moving.

The Radio Station is a place to gather

FM SHONAN MAGIC WAVE is a place for the local community. SMW broadcast on daily living, parenting, town, prefectural, and federal government, natural disasters, personal issues and questions. We go everywhere in town to interview and invite neighbors to studio to deliver their voices. While accepting as many local voices as we can, we wish to create the "WAVE" and spread it.
